Institutional Review Board Service
During the student's, time interning inside a Scholar and Grant Development Office (SGDO) at an institution of higher education, they attended and served on the university's Institutional Review Board (IRB). The process required the student to practice and engage in policies established by the university IRB and assure that all of the IRB proposals met the standards of practice established inside the enacted policies and procedures. Learning these policies and the various ways they are implemented demonstrated the student's skill set in Competency 5: Engage in policy practice as described in the CSWE's Educational Policy and Accreditation Standards for Bachelorettes and Master's Program (CSWE, 2015).

IRB Training and Policy Understanding
During the student's time interning at a public institution of higher education's SGDO they took part in the universities Institutional Review Board (IRB). Participating in these meetings required the student to be trained in standard protocols and potential conflicts of interest. Understanding the complex dynamics involved with these systems demonstrates the student's understanding, comprehension, and willingness to adhere to CSWE's Core Competency 5: Engage in Policy Practice. While also being able to competently navigate the various facets of policy practice and how policies are formed and enacted.
