Competency 4: Engage in Practice-Informed Research and Research-Informed Practice
Throughout my field placement, I actively participated in a range of research initiatives that deepened my understanding of evidence-based practice. These experiences required adherence to Institutional Review Board (IRB) protocols and the ethical standards outlined by the National Association of Social Workers (NASW), reflecting my commitment to the Council on Social Work Education's Core Competencies (2015).
I utilized multiple databases and research tools to identify resources tailored to the needs of specific client systems. This process not only enhanced my ability to apply research in practice but also reinforced the reciprocal relationship between field experience and scholarly inquiry. By integrating research into service delivery and using practice insights to inform further investigation, I demonstrated growth in Competency 4: the ability to engage in practice-informed research and research-informed practice.
